Three days from Saturday, March 16 will mark one full year since “normal life” ended abruptly for Fitzwilly’s restaurant in Northampton.
“Most years on St. Patrick’s Day,” explains owner Fred Gohr, “the Northampton St. Patrick’s Association has breakfast at the Hotel Northampton and then the whole contingent marches to Fitzwilly’s, where we have Irish music and a great party.”
“Last year we had 20 kegs of Guinness, a couple cases of Jameson’s Irish Whisky, and we were gearing up for a great celebration when BOOM the rug got pulled out from under us.”

Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)– We are only a couple of months away from what can be called one of Palo Alto County’s biggest parties of the year. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and event planners are doing everything in their power make everything as normal as possible.
Stephanie Mehan is President of the Emmetsburg St. Patrick’s Association. She says there are multiple ways to stay caught up on the latest happenings in this very fluid situation.
Mehan adds masks and social distancing are also a big part of the discussion for this year’s celebration.

We might be waiting for that return to normal for a little while longer.
Today Shamrock s St. Patrick s Association officially announced that they would be cancelling, or suspending, the St. Patrick s Day celebration for 2021. I m heartbroken.
In a statement that was released, it appears that the state s Covid guidelines strike again.
