Patch Survey: Readers Sound Off On CT Vaccine Roll-Out

Ned Lamont s decision to change vaccine eligibility to an age-based system instead of offering it to front-line essential workers and people with pre-existing conditions first. More than 1,600 Patch readers took the informal survey between Tuesday and noon Thursday. Around 62 percent of Patch readers who took the survey said they strongly agreed or agreed with Lamont s decision to change the vaccine roll-out process to an age-based system. An overwhelming majority of respondents who said they haven t gotten a vaccine dose yet said they plan to sign-up as soon as they become eligible.

NORTH CAROLINA North Carolina Walgreens will begin administering doses of coronavirus vaccine by this weekend, according to North Carolina s top public health official. They are going to have vaccines starting at the end of this week at 300 or so stores, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mandy Cohen said Tuesday. They re going to have a very small allocation in each store. Each pharmacy is expected to initially receive about 100 doses of vaccine that will be shipped directly from the federal government. The program is in addition to the state s currently weekly federal allocation of about 150,000 doses.
