Blackstone signaled plans to purchase IDG from Oriental Rainbow, a subsidiary of China Oceanwide Holdings Group, on Thursday. IDG is a market intelligence firm that also owns several technology publications.
The deal means that Blackstone now owns analysis firm IDC, as well as tech publications like
Macworld,

On September 11th, then NYPD’er Chris Letizia was a Bronx cop working the night shift. Around 9:00 AM the NYPD put out a call for a full mobilization, that we were under attack, and all cops were ordered to report to work. We were under a terror attack. Letizia and his co-workers were frustrated. To make this particular concoction, someone would need “flesh of vipers,” wine, opium, rhubarb, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, among other herbs and spices. Purportedly, this mixture would relieve symptoms like stomach weakness, difficulty breathing and perhaps even the plague itself.
“So, it was very important in the Middle Ages until it was finally shown to be not necessarily so effective,” says McGovern.
