WORCESTER After spending more than an hour Wednesday trying to navigate the city s new citywide parking plan, members of the City Council s Traffic and Parking Committee ultimately held off on offering a recommendation to the full council.
Instead, the committee only agreed to send a chairman s order to the full council that will ask the city administration to extend a grace period for meter overtime fines given to motorists in the Canal District, which is a major focus of the new plan.
• An increase in the parking meter overtime fine from $15 to $30.
• Creating specific zones for different types of parking.

HALLOWELL A city committee has recommended a design for a proposed park at the corner of Central and Water Streets that would use half of the location for parking.
The Parking Committee, formed in July by former Mayor Mark Walker, discussed its recommendations last Monday at a Zoom meeting of the City Council.
