Shawn Andress has been named Minnesota middle level principal of the year by the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals.
Andress was a classroom teacher for 19 years, a coach for 10 years, and has been a school administrator for nine years and the principal of Century Middle School in Park Rapids for the past five years.
According to the announcement from Dave Adney, executive director of the MASSP, Andress has focused on culture and climate at the school, creating the Panther Pride Matrix for staff development around the “3Rs” of respect, responsibility and relationships.
