The koreans see themselves as one people and would very much like to be reunified, especially the older generation of koreans slept family in the north, some of whom have not spoke in decades. It matters because in many ways koreans hold the United States responsible for the decision. There is a latent stream of antiamericanism running through Korean Society that could manifest itself in a strong way under the right circumstances. Seeing themselves as one people, they have two very different governing systems. How will that rectify itself . In their minds. If you look at the situation and the deprivation, how does that fit .
