They were the notorious brothers behind a wave of explosions that shocked police and established criminals. Andrew and Anthony White s gang used oxyacetylene gas to blow up ATMs and roared off at speeds of around 150mph.
The gas, used by established gangs in France and Holland, had not been used by criminals in the UK before the brothers reign of chaos began.
The White brothers were notorious in gangland Liverpool for their risk taking and apparent fearlessness.
