President Biden calls for National Day of Action for vaccines on Friday
Friday is being recognized as the National Vaccine Day of Action.
President Joe Biden has set a goal of getting at least 70 percent of adults in the U.S. at least one COVID-19 shot by July 4.
Florida currently ranks 29th in the country with about 39 percent of people fully vaccinated. Vermont is ranked first in the nation with nearly 57 percent of its population fully vaccinated and the state of Mississippi ranks last with about 27 percent of its population fully vaccinated.
Dr. Larry Bush, an infectious disease specialist in Wellington, is the immediate past president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society. He says it seems doubtful that the U.S. will reach President Biden’s goal by July 4.
