RIYADH: Al-Wehdat ensured that Al-Nassr’s frustrating season continued on Wednesday, as Group D of the AFC Champions League got underway. The Jordanian side held the struggling Saudi club to a goalless draw at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.
The team from Amman, which was playing its first-ever match in Asia’s premier club competition, maintained a fine defensive rearguard throughout the game. They are the first Jordanian club to reach the group stage of the competition, and despite the troubles Al-Nassr have been having on and off the pitch this season the Saudi side was still expected to win this match on home soil.
“There is always pressure. If you get two victories in a row you get very close to the top four. And two defeats will see you go down very quickly. Even yesterday (FC Goa versus Jamshedpur), it was a very up and down game. Everyone is looking to win games and (it’s) not very tactical. It will be a tough game for us. They are a new team but they have adapted well. We have to concentrate very well and remain focussed,” said László.
They will miss the services of right-back Reagan Singh due to accumulation of four yellow cards. Edwin Vanspaul and Aimol Reamsochung are the two options Lazslo has to replace the suspended Singh.

It’s nearly a week after Sergio Santos was signed in 2018 and just a few days before Jose “El Brujo” Martinez was announced in 2019 so it’s right on schedule that the Philadelphia Union would have their first transfer rumor of the close season.
Dostonbek Khamdamov, a 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger from Pakhtakor Tashkent FK in Uzbekistan is reportedly being targeted by the Philadelphia Union and their Eastern Conference rivals Toronto FC. He has 22 caps for Uzbekistan.
