KUANTAN: The police are on the hunt for 1,226 wanted individuals to help in investigating crime and traffic cases in the state pending since the year 2000, said State police chief Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan. He said warrants of arrest had been issued against 457 individuals who were involved in criminal cases including murder, rape and robbery. He said warrants of arrest had also been issued against 29 individuals for commercial crimes and criminal breach of trust. ‘’A total 713 warrants have been issued for crimes involving narcotics while 27 warrants were issued over traffic offences,’’ he told reporters here, today.

KUANTAN: Pahang Police have detected a new tactic by a Macau Scam syndicate which used fake letters allegedly signed by the Pahang police chief to deceive victims to transfer money. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said the letter, which used the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) letterhead, claimed that the recipient had to transfer money or get arrested on charges of drug smuggling and money laundering. “The letter also claims that if the recipient refuses to cooperate, then an arrest warrant will be issued immediately and all assets and bank accounts will be frozen for two years and five months, apart from being remanded for 45 days,“ he said told a press conference at the Pahang Police Headquarters here, today.
