that says the earth s ozone layer is on track to recover completely within decades because harmful chemicals are being phased out. how do you make sense of that? does that tell you that the fight to curb climate change is making progress? what it shows me is that our actions truly can make a difference. so the ozone hole was caused by human chemicals. remember those chemicals in our spray cans and refrigerators and air-conditioners and even some of the chemicals in nike air shoes. we got together and said we have to stop producing these chemicals. it wasn t easy, but they did it. now we re seeing the ozone hole start to recover. that means if we get together and say we have to stop producing heat trapping gasses, we truly can tackle this problem of climate change too. it gives me hope on one hand, but on the other hand i know that carbon emissions are woven
