Fipe Salabogi is a Rotuman trying to save her language from being lost forever. She is one of a small diaspora of Rotumans living in New Zealand, trying to learn the language and protect it for generations to come. The Rotuman language is listed on the UNESCO List of Endangered Languages, with only 15,000 speakers in the world. RICKY WILSON/Stuff Fipe Salabogi didn’t speak Rotuman growing up, but she’s now learning the language with her daughters.
