The continuing pandemic blahs and news about anti-Asian violence have me thinking about ways to talk about friendship, kindness and empathy with the young ones. Fortunately, those are pillars that many children’s shows and movies are built on. Here are some potential vehicles for conversation as well as entertainment.

Tītahi Bay Residents Association spokeswoman Michelle Laurenson has likened the region’s pipe situation to the leaky homes crisis and said there should be a similar financial assistance package to deal with this saga.
Tītahi Bay households could be the first in the region stung with bills potentially reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars as Wellington Water investigates the pipe network, Porirua’s mayor says. Anita Baker said the suburb’s homeowners will be expected to foot the cost of repairs if broken pipes or cross connections were identified on their properties, in the first of a series of checks on infrastructure linking private homes into Wellington Water’s network.

Big Hero 6 Characters Aren t Making Live-Action Debuts in Marvel Cinematic Universe

Since Walt Disney Pictures Animation first debuted “Big Hero 6” in 2014, the movie’s intrepid inventor Hiro, his adorable robot companion Baymax, and their team of STEM-enhanced superheroes have been regular fixtures within the larger Disney pop-culture ecosystem.
Despite recent reports, however, Hiro, Baymax and the rest of the “Big Hero 6” crew are not currently set to make their live-action debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe,
Variety has confirmed with a source at the studio.

Owhiro Stream has two main tributaries, one of which drains Kowhai Park Gully, where for decades all manner of rubbish has been thrown into the landfill. Regional council general manager for environment management Alistair Cross said the landfill was under investigation for two key matters; unconsented earthworks, and non-compliant discharges causing discoloration of the streambed. “The investigation is continuing and no enforcement decisions have been made.”

(File photo) As early as 2016, the regional council had received complaints about discolouration and foaming in the stream, and the subsequent investigation determined it was the result of discharges from the landfill. An abatement notice, fines, and a cost recovery order were issued.
