Mercer Island High School’s Kelly John-Lewis (upper left) and the PTA Special Services and Learning Differences Committee (SSALD) were named Outstanding Children’s Advocate Award winners at the PTA Council Awards on May 12. Lakeridge Elementary’s Heather McLyman (upper right) and West Mercer Elementary’s David Baxter were named Outstanding Educators, and Mercer Island High School senior Ryan Hsi (lower left) performed his original piano composition, “The Melting Pot,” to a standing ovation.
