pitcher domingo german delivered a perfect game for the new york yankees in oakland last night. becoming the only 24th perfecto in the history of major league baseball and the first in more than a decade, the last coming in 2012. german is an unlikely candidate to have done this. he s got a sub500 record this season and also suspended ten games for finding illegal sticky substance on his hands. he also started the game winless in his six previous outings against the a s but he say simply masterful last night throwing 72 of his pitches for strikes to complete the fourth perfect game in franchise history. the yankees beat the a s 11-0. elsewhere olympic champion gymnast simone biles is set to make a return to competition for the first time since the summer of 2021 at those pandemic delayed tokyo olympic games.
