Facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace revealed
The Tiguan Allspace has been updated with a fresh new look
Volkswagen has unveiled the revised version of its Tiguan Allspace – the stretched seven-seat version based on the firm’s best-selling SUV.
First introduced in 2017, the Tiguan Allspace offered greater practicality than the standard car – bringing a third row of seats and an 11cm-longer wheelbase. The boot is also 145 litres larger than the standard car and measures up to 1,755 litres with just two seats in position.
As part of this mid-life update, the Allspace benefits from the same changes seen on the regular Tiguan last year. Most noticeable is its redesigned front end, including a more intricate grille that also features a bold illuminated light strip. These changes also mean the updated car is 2.2cm longer than before. New Oryx White and Kings Red colours are also available, along with an additional 18-inch alloy wheel design.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Volkswagen brand managers would admit they were slow to join the SUV and CUV wave that began consuming the U.S. auto industry nearly two decades ago.
While other automakers were rolling out lots of car-based midsize CUVs and truck-based fullsize SUVs, Volkswagen brought to American shores in 2008 its compact Tiguan – a bit too small for this market as initially conceived.
Although the standard wheelbase Tiguan was already facelifted in Europe, the long-wheelbase version (known as the Allspace in Europe and simply as the Tiguan in North America) has finally joined in on the fun.
That means new exterior design, new interior design, new tech, new colors, and more. Since this is just an update, though, some things, like engines, will stay the same.
A Modest Exterior Refresh
As with the short wheelbase version, the longer Tiguan’s visual updates are mostly limited to the front and the rear. At the front, the biggest update will be in the form of new headlights. With new LED light signatures, its design comes more in line with the language established by the Mk8 Golf.

Volkswagen has introduced the second-generation Tiguan crossover in America back in 2017, and while it quickly rose up the ranks to assume the mantle of sales leadership, it has also faced increased competition from rivals in the segment. Naturally, a mid-cycle facelift might go a long way to recapture the public’s attention. 27 photos
Thus, for the 2022 model year, Volkswagen of America has prepared a traditionally sensible update that lightly touches the styling and brings even more technology to double down the appeal of the model’s already known mix of utility and performance.
As with the revised European model that s already on sale, its exterior gets treated to a completely revised front fascia, and the most obvious changes take place at the bumper level. There, distinctive lines blend with the new and enlarged grille as well as the standard LED headlights, while the DRLs can become even more pronounced thanks to an op
