In some countries, its hard to almost immediately after their own democratic breakthrough and it was championed by some of the same people who organized those domestic breakthroughs. Civil society has played an important and driving role in terms of democracy promotion, both as implementers of such support abroad as well as champions and advocates for their states to invest in supporting democraticization abroad. They have leveraged their bilateral challenges as well as various citizen diplomacy forums to support democraticization abroad and have leveraged membership. Lastly, a number of Eastern European countries have started to provide assistance, but more on the technical than financial side, so, in some, we have several of these countries that have they have exercised diplomacy and theyre their efforts have tended to be limited in terms of the number of cpms and geographics recipients to a number of countries. So theres about 3. 6 million unauthorized immigrants who dont qualify for daca who fall into one of these parent categories and about 1. 5 million spouses who dont qualify for daca, unauthorized immigrants who are spouses of citizens or bprs. Those categories overlap so theres about 4. 2 Million People who are either a spouse or parent. The numbers go down pretty substantially when you start adding on long residency requirements. So if youre only extending the program to people who have been here 5 or 10 or 15 years. So a few quick comments about this approach. You know, here again longtime residents with u. S.
