To my friend from wyoming, my local utility, the Los Angeles Department of water and power just concluded a very large agreement with a wyoming wind company to import windgenerated electricity from wyoming to help replace some of the coalfired energy that they have been relying on. They are actually takeing responsibility for being the largest demander in our state even though the electricity that we were using was coming from utah, as it happens. And there will be costs associated with transitioning away from the coal and into the wind. But overall the net of it is that los angeles ratepayers will still be doing okay because the utility is taking steps to help their customers become more efficient in their use of energy.
