Maura Healey and Michelle Wu face crucial tests this week as they reach self-imposed deadlines on limiting migrants and cleaning up the drug-riddled Mass and Cass neighborhood zone.
BOSTON — The Healey administration is being sued over a move to cap the number of people it provides with emergency housing under the state s decades-old right-to-shelter law.
Lawyers for Civil Rights filed a class action lawsuit claiming the Healey administration failed to give lawmakers sufficient warning about major changes to the family shelter system. The suit claims the changes undermine the commonwealth’s 1983 right-to-shelter law. State officials say they are reviewing the complaint.
