report in perspective, and, look, we came to office, we knew we were facing a once in a century pandemic and a once in a generation economic crisis. and we knew this wouldn t be a sprint, it would be a marathon. quite frankly we re moving more rapidly than i thought we would. this morning we learned that our economy created 266,000 jobs in april. hadn t been adjusted again yet, but that s what it says. 266. and listening to commentators today, as i was getting dressed, you might think that we should be disappointed. but when we passed the american rescue plan i want to remind everybody it was designed to help us over the course of a year, not 60 days. a year. we never thought that after the first 50 or 60 days everything would be fine. today there s more evidence that our economy is moving in the right direction but it s clear we have a long way to go. all told our economy has added more than 1,500,000 new jobs since i took office, the most number of jobs created in the first

the million job boost analysts were forecasting. going to kaitlan collins at the white house, what else did we hear from president biden? reporter: he was arguing essentially that looking at the data from the jobs report makes the case for his economic agenda, not just talking about the american rescue plan, the covid-19 relief bill he passed after first taking office that, of course it s now additional stimulus checks, extended enhanced unemployment benefits but he was saying it s not going to go into effect right away, he was saying it wasn t going to be a 60-day turnaround, he envisions it taking close to a year to have this happen. the way he was framing it was, and this is still going on, despite the criticism that has been coming in as this negative jobs report that really shocked everyone, he said it s proof of just how deep the hole of an economic hole that america was in, because of the pandemic. we re still digging out of an economic collapse that cost us 22 mil

ex-officers now who were with chauvin the day floyd died. two officers not intervening to stop use of force and prosecutors are coming down for allegedly not giving floyd medical aid. omar joins us. derek chauvin is still awaiting sentencing for the state conviction. talk us through the indictments. three counts listed out of federal rights violations and on the first count it specifically singles out derek chauvin over the course of this he held his knee across floyd s neck and george floyd laid on the ground handcuffed and unresisting and kept his knees on floyd s neck and body even after floyd became unresponsive. that second count listed singles out thao and alexander kueng and said they were aware of what chauvin was doing and did not make any attempts to intervene. and then the third count incompasses all the officers and they were all aware that george floyd needed medical aid and none of them made the attempt to do so in a timely manner. we reached out to the attorn
