The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, its South-East counterpart, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, among others, yesterday, condemned stoppage of the supply of foodstuffs and cattle to the south from the north by the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and cattle Dealers of Nigeria.

THE clash between farmers and herders across the coun-try has led to sorrow, tears and blood.
Already, tongues are wagging over the rising conflict between herders and farmers in Nigeria especially in the South-West which is taking a dangerous dimension if not urgently nipped in the bud.
There have been repeated calls on governments, at all levels, to wade in and calm frayed nerves by finding a lasting solution before it degenerates to a level that can no longer be salvaged.

The Agbekoya Farmers Society on Monday expressed worry that some traditional rulers and leaders in the South-West are aiding killer herdsmen in perpetuating crimes in Yorubaland.
It also disclosed that lsikilu Wakili, the notorious leader of the criminal Fulani herdsmen is still in Kajola under the protection of a monarch.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Olatunji Bandele stated that President General of the group, Chief Kamorudeen Okikiola wondered why traditional rulers in the region could aid and abate killer herdsmen in Yorubaland.
The statement reads: “The criminal Fulani herdsmen and their leader, Isikilu Wakili, whom Agbekoya security men have been on the trail since last week have been found in their hideout in Kajola via Ayete in lbarapa area of Oyo State. THE Agbekoya Farmers’ Association and the Yoruba Socio-Political organisation Afenifere, yesterday, raised the alarm that marauding herdsmen have launched guerrilla warfare on Yorubaland, but vowed to flush out the culpable herdsmen terrorizing the South-West.
They also disclosed that it had begun a manhunt for the killer herdsmen’s kingpin, known as Mahmoud Waziri, and his men, who terrorise farmers and residents in Ibarapa local government area of Oyo State.
