Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited, in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, is developing an Energy Infrastructure Park at Okpoama, Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the project on Saturday, according to a statement from the NCDMB.
It said the minister also inaugurated three corporate social responsibility projects executed by the Atlantic International Refinery for the people of the Okpoama Kingdom.
According to Sylva, one of the best strategies to curb restiveness in the Niger Delta region is to create jobs and opportunities for youths.

Okpoama, (Bayelsa) Dec. 20, 2020 (NAN) A former governor of Bayelsa and now Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, has been extolled for his immense contributions to the development of Bayelsa.
Gov. Douye Diri stated this on Saturday night, during a grand reception in honour of the Minister at Okpoama Kingdom, in Brass Local Government Area (BLGA) of Bayelsa.
Naija247news reports that Diri was represented by
his Chief of Staff Mr Benson Agadaga, who led the state’s delegation to the event.
The governor also commended the Amanyanbo of Okpoama Kingdom, King Ebitimi Banigo and other key stakeholders in the BLGA for recognising Sylva’s modest effort.
