OGDENSBURG - The Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival will return for its 60th edition July 24 to Aug. 1.
This year’s festival welcomes many of the traditional events and activities, including the fireworks display on July 30 and the parade on July 31.
“Everyone is thrilled to death. I am receiving messages daily,” said Laurel Lee Roethel, festival co-organizer.
To date, three professional music groups will perform - The Downbeats Percussion from Buffalo, Prime Time Brass from Rochester, and the return of the Hit Men, also from Rochester.
“This year’s event will be slightly different but will definitely be a welcome sight,” said Chris Cole, Seaway Festival organizer in a website post. “Other musical groups are actively being sought. School bands are unsure of Covid rules so they may be a last-minute addition. “We expect a huge number of floats from groups, business

Penny L. Newton, 51, Norfolk, was ticketed for following too closely at the intersection of State Highway 37 and Ford St. Ticket is returnable July 1 in Ogdensburg City Court.
Isaiah M. Compo, 22, Ogdensburg, was charged with speeding (45 mph in a 30 mph zone) and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on the 100 block of Montgomery St. Tickets are returnable June 29 in Ogdensburg City Court.

Judith A. Ellison, 30, Ogdensburg, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no/inadequate stop lamps at 2:10 a.m. on June 8 at the intersection of Albany Ave. and Gates St. Tickets are returnable June 22 in Ogdensburg City Court.
Shayne Lawson Figured, 29, Ogdensburg, was arrested on a parole warrant and charged with second-degree criminal trespass on June 8 at 10:12 a.m. at 424 Caroline St. He was released on an appearance ticket for the criminal trespass charge.
