Pouring rain did little to dampen the spirits of the Abundant Earth Tribe over the weekend, with more than a dozen volunteers from the group diving in to create two food gardens in the Shire’s north.
Driven by the goal of creating a self-sustaining community food network, on Saturday the volunteers from the project created garden beds full of seedlings at homes in Mullumbimby and Ocean Shores. Abundant Earth aims to create food gardens in backyards across the Shire, creating enough food to feed not only the household but hundreds of others across the community.
