La Niña could bring 'roller coaster' weather across Wisconsin this spring as high water levels could bring coastal flooding in some areas
La Niña could bring roller coaster weather across Wisconsin this spring as high water levels could bring coastal flooding in some areas Jake Prinsen, Green Bay Press-Gazette © William Glasheen, USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin The National Weather Service said the Wolf River near Shiocton may be vulnerable to spring flooding this year. In this April 2019 photo, East Avenue is water covered and closed to traffic during flooding along the Wolf River. Meteorologists say the outlook for spring flooding is normal but warn of potential rollercoaster weather from the La Niña weather pattern as spring begins in Wisconsin. Kurt Kotenberg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Green Bay, said lake and river levels, snowfall totals and frost depths are the same or lower than last year, making the threat of flooding on par with average seasons.
