The longline tuna boat and its crew have been at the centre of a major search operation in Fijian waters since six men abandoned ship after the alleged beheading. One man was found in a life raft and two crew on the boat were handed over to police.

One man, who jumped overboard on Monday to escape an alleged violent incident, was found by NZDF and Fijian Navy in a life raft on Thursday. Five of the six men who jumped overboard remain missing. In a statement sent by Nathan and Michelle Stroud, via their lawyer, the pair said the FV Tiro II is not and was not owned by Ocean Vision Limited, and Ocean Vision is no longer the operator of the vessel.
