OMS: How Okunbo floored Ayeni

For Edo State-born politician, philanthropist and business mogul, Captain Hosa Okunbo, it was a sigh of relief when he was cleared of the alleged theft and criminal diversion of company funds levelled against him by a former Chairman of the defunct Skye Bank, Dr Tunde Ayeni.
Okunbo was Ayeni’s erstwhile business partner.
The bone of contention was whether Okunbo lawfully acquired Ayeni’s interest in Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, OMS, an issue that generated so much heat.
The Nigeria Police, however, laid the matter to rest as it exonerated the Edo-born business in the matter saying he (Okunbo) was blameless

Govt College Ughelli Old Boys Association Lagos branch mourns passing of Rear Admiral Joe Aikhomu

Lagos Chapter of Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA), yesterday, commiserated with the family of the late Rear Admiral Joe Aikhomu (rtd), who died recently at 65.
A statement signed by its President, Sam Omatseye, disclosed that until his death, Aikhomu was an active member of the Lagos branch of GCUOBA.
The statement read “Rear Admiral Joe Aikhomu (Rtd) until his death, was an active member of the Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association Lagos branch.

Aikhomu, 65, passed on Thursday morning in Abuja allegedly from COVID-19 complications.
The deceased who was younger brother to former military Vice President, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu (rtd), was until his death, chairman of Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS), a company his late brother founded with businessman Captain Hosa Okunbo.
Aikhomu was also a member of the investigative panel on arms procurement between 2007 and 2015 which was set up by President Muhammadu Buhari during his first tenure.
According to sources, his death has thrown the navy community into mourning as Aikhomu was considered a mobile encyclopedia on maritime operations and logistics in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG) region.
