WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. - A West Bloomfield couple is accused of stealing almost $150,000 in three separate fraudulent Payroll Protection Program loans. Adebowale Ajagbe, 46, and Tracy Hall, 38, have both been charged with counts of false pretenses, using a computer to commit a crime, uttering and publishing, and conspiracy. A release from Attorney General Dana Nessel detailed how both acquired tens of thousands of dollars through PPP loans that had false information about businesses that were listed on the application.

April 29, 2021 By Jon King / jking@whmi.com A man accused of using a pickup truck to hit his ex-girlfriend s brother over the weekend in Highland Township has been charged in the case. 52-year-old Richard Eric Kalinowski of Holly was arraigned Tuesday in Oakland County District Court on a single count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Authorities say Kalinowski was arrested Sunday shortly after the incident in which a 43-year-old man told sheriff s deputies his sister had called him and said Kalinowski was chasing her in his Dodge Ram pickup truck. As she pulled into the driveway of her brother’s Highland Township home, the man said he ran toward Kalinowski’s truck, but was pushed by the vehicle into a parked SUV. He says Kalinowski then swerved at him before driving off.

WHMI 93 5 Local News : Serial Armed Robbery Suspect Charged

February 10, 2021 By Jessica Mathews / news@whmi.com A man described by police as a “serial armed robbery suspect” has been charged in connection with numerous incidents in Oakland and Genesee counties. Following an investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force, the Fenton Police Department and multiple others, 27-year-old Marcel Hinkle of Flint was taken into custody without incident on February 4th. He’s tied to several armed robberies that occurred between January 19th and 31st. Hinkle was previously convicted of felony armed robbery and felony concealed weapons charges. He was discharged from prison in November and was on parole at the time of his arrest. Hinkle is accused of attempted armed robbery on January 23rd at the Walgreens at 3270 West Silver Lake Road in the City of Fenton.

WHMI 93 5 Local News : South Lyon Father Shot Inside Home Dies From Injuries

January 27, 2021 By Jon King / jking@whmi.com A South Lyon man, who had been hospitalized since he was shot inside his home, has succumbed to his injuries. 43-year-old Kevin Stamper passed away Tuesday after being hospitalized in critical condition following the December 30th shooting that killed his 17-year-old son Dylan. South Lyon Police Chief Chris Sovik told WHMI the family made the difficult decision Monday evening to remove artificial life support, which happened this afternoon. He noted that Kevin’s body was fighting infection among other challenges. Sovik says an autopsy was performed this morning at the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine cause of death and retrieve evidence, a bullet. He says they’ll discuss the death with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and possibly amend charges against the two persons who are currently in custody.
