Royal Marsden supporters fundraise over £820,000 with walk

Marsden supporters march for cancer centre A fundraising event saw walkers brave the wind and rain to support the Royal Marsden last week. On Sunday ( May 23 ), thousands of people took part in The Banham Marsden March at Home in a bid to raise money for The Royal Marsden s Oak Cancer Centre appeal. The centre aims to speed up the translation of world-leading research into breakthroughs in treatment and care, transforming the lives of cancer patients when it opens at the end of 2022. Supporters walked five or 15 miles across the country separately, rather than the regular route between the hospital in Chelsea and Sutton.

The Royal Marsden increase spaces to join their Banham Marsden March event The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has opened up more spaces for people to join their fundraising event The Banham Marsden March .  Following the cancer charity’s decision to cancel their in-person event and go virtual, the number of people allowed to take part in the five or 15 mile walk on May 23 has increased. Supporters can secure a place, which includes a free t-shirt, and help the charity reach its £2million target towards The Oak Cancer Centre Appeal. This vital new centre will speed up the translation of world-leading research into breakthroughs in treatment and care, transforming the lives of cancer patients at The Royal Marsden and beyond when it opens at the end of 2022.
