The president of the Nunatsiavut government has decided to decline an invitation to Premier Andrew Furey's Indigenous roundtable over his decision to include the NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) in discussions.
The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples is defending the NunatuKavut Community Council as the Labrador group faces accusations of co-opting Inuit identity. The president of the recognized Inuit treaty organization in northern Labrador, however, says he rejects the council's claims.
