To further support the energy-deficit Pakistan, he said his country had offered delivery of Russian Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) through the Russian companies Gazprom and Novatek and was awaiting response from the partners in Pakistan.

Russia’s foreign minister on Wednesday said Moscow and Islamabad would boost ties in the fight against terrorism, with Russia providing unspecified military equipment to Pakistan and the two holding more joint exercises at sea and in the mountains.
Sergey Lavrov’s two-day trip to Pakistan is the first visit by a Russian foreign minister in nine years, part of a warming in once frosty relations. It comes as Moscow seeks to increase its stature in the region, particularly in Afghanistan, where it has sought to inject itself as a key player in accelerated efforts to find a peaceful end to decades of war.

Cyber security issues dominated the meeting of the state’s nuclear energy stakeholder committee on Wednesday morning.
The Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission, which advises Governor Brad Little on state policy related to the laboratory, spoke during his five-hour meeting. Topics for discussion included the lab’s Cybercore Integration Center, the relationships between the lab and national security efforts, and the future of 5G network research.
US Senator Jim Risch, R-Idaho, told the commission he thought it was likely the lab would soon be spending more money on its cybersecurity programs than on its nuclear. He suggested that the committee establish a subcommittee or secondary committee that would focus solely on the cyber security aspect of the lab’s work.
