VIA bus this afternoon on the city s East Side.
It happened near a bus stop on North Walters at East Commerce. VIA released the following statement: Just after 1:30 PM on Monday, May 24, a VIA bus was departing from a bus stop at Commerce and Walters streets when a person began to chase the vehicle and tap on its side. The person slipped while running and fell under the bus’s rear tires. San Antonio Police have confirmed that the person is deceased. No other details are available at this time. Thank you.

SAN ANTONIO South Texas has been pounded with severe weather, lately. Late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, the wind gusts were intense. Part of a motel roof below off. Assistant Manager of the Days Inn & Suites Tina Vare said the winds sounded like a twister. She said pieces of the roof were flying all over.
