⢠Tamara L. Adams, 49, of Newton, was charged with fifth-degree theft at 12:24 p.m. Nov. 22 in the 300 block of Iowa Speedway Drive. According to the Newton Police Department, officers were called to Walmart on a report of a theft. Upon arrival, police met with loss prevention staff who witnesses Adams fail to scan $27.16 worth of merchandise at the self check out. She then left the store without paying for the items. She was cited and released.
⢠Daniel C. Kern, 34, of Newton, was charged with violation of no contact order at 5 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 1400 block of First Avenue East. According to the Newton Police Department, officers were dispatched in reference to reckless driving. Newton police made contact with the victim via telephone and the victim advised she was northbound on the Hy-Vee frontage road when Kern, in his vehicle, pulled out of the Hy-Vee gas parking lot without stopping directly in front of the
