A man is dead after being shot while breaking up a fight between two other men including the gunman, who then crashed into a squad car on the Northwest Side while fleeing the murder scene Friday night.

Two people were killed and at least three others were wounded Thursday in shootings across Chicago.
The two homicides happened in Austin on the West Side, while a 14-year-old boy was wounded in South Shore and a man was hurt in Englewood.
The first murder unfolded about 2:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Laramie Avenue, police said. Jerry Laflore of Austin was shot in the back as he was walking, officials said. The 27-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A nearby CTA driver was also injured by shattered glass when a bullet struck the their bus, police said. The driver was listed in good condition at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.
