Night beat: Police investigate report woman tried to take ambulance

Overnight reports from Jacksonville police:
• A woman tried to steal an ambulance while it was in the 300 block of West Beecher Avenue about 10:44 a.m. Sunday. A crew was in the back of the ambulance at the time, according to reports. Police are investigating.
• Police are investigating a report by a North Prairie Street resident that someone discharged a firearm at him about 10:10 a.m. Sunday.
• Eggs were thrown at two vehicles and a house in the 300 block of Yates Street at 9:48 p.m. Sunday.
• A vacant residence in the 300 block of East College Avenue was broken into between Jan. 14 and Sunday, according to a report filed at 3:25 p.m. Sunday. Nothing was reported stolen.

ARRESTS, CITATIONS
• Two girls were cited on disorderly conduct charges after fighting at 9:36 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of North Diamond Street.
ACCIDENTS
• Peyton J. Knous, 18, of Meredosia was cited on a charge of following too closely after the car he was driving and one being driven by Danielle N. Collins, 32, of Jacksonville collided at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday at Main Street and Morton Avenue.
