Omega Ruston, 32, was shot dead on the Gold Coast Highway on January 26, 2009, after he got out of his car to confront another driver who cut him off in traffic, and was shot from a third car.
The City of Gold Coast is investing in accessible beach infrastructure including beach wheelchairs and matting along with custom-built wheelchair accessible showers and changing rooms installed at some of their most popular beaches aimed at making the Gold Coast a more inclusive and accessible city.
Surf Life Saving Queensland sport manager Stuart Hogben said the fitness levels the competitors maintained was amazing.
