‘Trend of acquiring technical education rising among women’ Islamabad May 23, 2021 Islamabad : Since the deadly coronavirus pandemic outbreak prolonged business closures made huge number of job layoffs that had resulted into the rise of trend of acquiring technical and vocational education by female students across the country for better job opportunities. According to a research study conducted by a private organisation, most of the female students living in urban areas of the country after passing their matriculation exams, gave preference to get admission in any technical institution rather than taking admission in any college. The report highlighted that this trend was prevailing in mainly urban areas due to lack of job opportunities for those who had completed their sixteen years of education but failed to get any job.

Human chain formed to protest against 'illegal' evictions along nullahs in Karachi - Pakistan

White Star/File KARACHI: A human chain was formed alongside the Gujjar Nala, from Liaquatabad Daak Khana to the Khamosh Colony graveyard under the banner of the Awami Workers Party, Women Democratic Front and Progressive Students Federation on Saturday. The demonstration was organised by the victims of illegal evictions in the Gujjar Nala and Orangi Nala areas, as well as the K-Electric Labour Union, SSGC Insaf Jafakash Union, and Progressive Trade Union Federation. A large number of Karachi citizens, including women and children, participated in the protest and chanted slogans against the federal and provincial governments.

PNCA plans to set up film academy Islamabad February 13, 2021 Islamabad : The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has planned to establish a film academy to promote new art and cultural talent in the country for quality productions. “Quality film production and other art and cultural activities while engaging the new talent will promote the positive image of Pakistan internationally,” PNCA director general Dr Fozia Saeed told an online conference organised by the council with the representatives of the nationwide art councils in attendance. The event held using a digital platform due to the current coronavirus outbreak was meant to discuss ways and means to revive cultural activities in the post-pandemic situation especially through cultural and creative content.
