welcome back. rick santorum, projected winner in the louisiana republican primary. i want to talk a little with you folks where we go from here. we talked about santorum survival chances. newt gingrich haven t talked a lot about him. how long is he in the race? gingrich was mucking things up for santorum when santorum had a chance for a one-on-one race with rom knney. i don t think gingrich is getting in his way. any delegate gingrich gets is nonromney. if we got to june saying this is one crazy summer. i want to be relevant.
he is spending money it is moving people or there isn t just a split already. and they continue to have the sort of skunk at the picnic newt gingrich who they want to get out of the race and he refuses to get out and i think that it will continue to be the same trajectory that romney is ahead and will keep on getting at least a proportion of every state. it will be very, very difficult for santorum to catch up. if the game were catching up i would agree with you. is not what they are trying to do here. announcing the two nonromney campaigns gingrich and santorum trying to block romney getting to 1144. that is what the whole thing is about. the romney campaign focused i think largely on illinois and making it as big as it can be and because rick santorum is ineligible for 10 delegates out of the 54 whereas santorum has ads already buying time in louisiana and wisconsin looking down the road.
if behad continued on the same path as when newt was is in control instead of being 100% of gdp, the debt would be 15% of gdp. you are true believer, i hear you. why hasn t that message been getting out there and why hasn t rick santorum been able to rise to the number one or number two spot and become the nonromney candidate and stay there when newt gingrich h held that position a little bit but is now sort of by the wayside? the fact is these are very good people. the capacity of of the republican candidates versus what is happening in washington is night and day. the question is who do people best identify with for particular concerns whether is be social concerns, establishment concerns or economy and energy production as with newt. we are going to see as the american people focus on particular issues that particular state tends to respond in a certain way and i think that what we are going to see is those that are concerned about our future for those that see that america is a
this momentary stripe of the candidates and put newt gingrich against barack obama, i imagine the decision will be very clear, and the republican party will fall in line behind him. megyn: so we talked to you, do you think that santorum has now officially emerged as the nonromney? is gingrich no longer in contention for that role? yeah, i think so. megyn: do you? and you re a santorum supporters. i am. you re happy to see this. i m happy for santorum. he did so well last night in michigan, you know. however he got the votes, he did it. megyn: does that bother you? you say however he got them. does it bother you? because romney called it disgusting. romney called it disgusting that santorum was appealing to democrats in an open primary and they said wait finish your point. there are a lot of democrats i think that would actually support him in a general election. megyn: tony, go ahead. democrats were urged to support him.
