Best new gyms, fitness studios and group exercise classes in London Rosie Fitzmaurice
Home workouts have served us well over the last year, but we all know there is nothing like the endorphin rush of the real thing. There’s something about the social aspect of a group setting, a banging soundtrack and healthy dose of competition that you just can’t beat.
Now the time has finally come, we are officially allowed to train together indoors again, and despite the fact that fitness studios have had to remain closed for the best part of the last year, there are a number of exciting new openings in the capital.
Class complete, and there’s a Zen-like terrace where you can unwind, plus a slick café, its fridges filled with poke bowls, chia seed puddings and smoothies. Should you be looking to grade your workout, you’ll find a boutique jostling with the latest athleisure brands (like Alo, LA’s hottest range of activewear; Adidas by Stella McCartney and the studio’s own line of super-soft hoodies and water bottles). Bodies in need of some TLC can make their way to one of three spa suites, where muscle-mollifying massages and facials take place – before regrouping in the Japanese-inspired changing rooms, with rainfall showers and Dyson hairdryers.
