Death has been announced of Traditional Authority Mphonde (T/A) of Nkhotakota District.
This has been confirmed by spokesperson in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in an interview with the press.
T/A Mphonde, born Mussa Malijani Kajombo, died on Monday, 1st March 2021 at Nkhotakota District Hospital after battling with severe Pneumonia.
He was born on 25th June 1964 and was installed as T/A in 2002.
Burial of the remains of the late Chief Mphonde will take place on Tuesday 2nd March 2021 at his Mphonde Headquarters in Nkhotakota.
The departed chief is survived by three wives, eight children and seven grandchildren.
