A Tribute to Nature: Swiss Cultural Festival to kick off today

AMMAN The Swiss Cultural Festival “Tribute to Nature” will kick off on Wednesday with two films and one exhibition highlighting the importance of environmental protection.
Presented by the embassy of Switzerland in Jordan in collaboration with the Royal Film Commission, the Tribute to Nature Festival will feature two award-winning Swiss films, an exhibition on 20 innovative, environmentally friendly solutions from Switzerland and a panel discussion with distinguished experts from both countries, a Swiss embassy statement said.

AMMAN Director General of the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Nizar Haddad represented Jordan at the General Fisheries Commission of the Mediterranean (GFCM) virtual meeting.
This meeting landed on a commitment to implement a new strategy for the fisheries and aquaculture sector by 2030. The director-general of FAO, European Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries and Executive Secretary of the GFCM opened the meeting. Fifteen ministers and 10 senior officials from 23 countries also attended the meeting, according to a NARC statement.
