Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State recently boldly renounced negotiation as a solution to bandits’ criminality. He said negotiating with bandits would never work. He wants them arrested and dealt with squarely. They should be eliminated.

In a press release signed by the President, Prof. Joseph Oluwasanmi and General Secretary, Mr. Niyi Ajibulu, the elders advised the South West Governors to realise that Amotekun can only succeed in its tasks if it remains community owned and community driven.
Ekiti Elders during their interactive meeting with the Commander, Amotekun security network, Brigadier General Joe Komolafe, called on the South West Governors to draw a line and concentrate more on providing equipment and gadgets for surveillance for Amotekun that will enable them have a complete control.

The Ekiti State Council of Elders has advised South-West governors to urgently engage with the Federal Government on the need for operatives of the State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun corps to bear firearms.
The elders noted that the waves of kidnappings, killings and other heinous crimes in the states would only be tackled effectively when the personnel of Amotekun are allowed to carry arms to defend the citizens against attacks from gun-wielding men.
The group in a statement jointly signed by its president, Professor Joseph Oluwasanmi; the Public Relations Officer, Dr Bayo Orire and the General Secretary, Mr Niyi Ajibulu, on Sunday, in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital said the call became necessary following their meeting with the Ekiti Amotekun corps commander, Brig Gen Joe Komolafe (retd).

Ekiti Council of Elders has raised concern over the non approval of fire arms for the Ekiti State Security Network agency also known as Amotekun amid worsening insecurity in the state and the South-West.
In a statement by the President, Prof. Joseph Oluwosanm, General Secretary, Mr. Niyi Ajibulu, and PRO, Dr. Bayo Orire, the elders decried the wave of violence crimes that have persisted in the state, following which they met the Commander of Ekiti Amtekun, Brigadier Gen. Joe Komolafe (rtd) to find solution.
