Rent bank proposes to help tenants and landlords in North Bay
Two groups in North Bay have teamed up in an effort to help tenants and landlords who are facing financial pressures.

Two groups in North Bay have teamed up in an effort to help tenants and landlords who are facing financial pressures.
The Low Income People Involvement (LIPI) of Nipissing is working with the Near North Landlords Association on a plan to create a rent bank program and they re asking for help from the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board.

A North Bay man charged after a shelter worker was stabbed with a syringe is to appear by video remand in Ontario Court of Justice March 3.

Peter Quenneville, 46, of North Bay, is charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, possession of a substance and breach of probation.
Quenneville was charged earlier this month after an adult male employee was stabbed in the back with a syringe.
North Bay police were called to the low-barrier shelter on Chippewa Street shortly before 9 p.m. Feb. 11 following the incident.

A man is in custody after a person was stabbed in the back with a syringe Thursday evening.
North Bay police said the incident was reported shortly before 9 p.m. at “an address in the 500 block of Chippewa Street West in North Bay.”

The low-barrier shelter and transitional housing at the former OPP station on Chippewa Street West is overseen by the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board. The facility is operated and staffed by Nipissing Mental Health Housing and Support Services.
