Tatiana Suarez gets medical clearance for UFC return, aims for flyweight

Tatiana Suarez is coming back. The undefeated UFC strawweight contender told Ariel Helwani of ESPN that she received medical clearance for her return to the Octagon and has planned a significant change in the weight class she would like to compete in.
Suarez has been on the sidelines for about two years with a neck injury that had been re-aggravated in her last fight against Nina Ansaroff at UFC 238. The injury concerns inflamed discs that have been a continuous issue since her wrestling career.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s Strawweight talents Amanda Ribas and Angela Hill will throw down this weekend (Sat., May 8, 2021) at UFC Vegas 26 inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ribas enters this bout following a fairly brutal loss, having gotten absolutely cracked by Marina Rodriguez following a strong first round (watch highlights). Hill has come a long way, improving her defensive grappling and allowing her kickboxing to shine as a result, advancing to the position of No. 12 in the rankings.

The first round of the main event started with an ugly kick from Holland that delivered flush right into Vettori’s crotch area that would make any man cringe in perceptible pain. After that illegal foray, the first round was a mix between exchanges on the feet between the two middleweight contenders, along with clinch work that for the most part was dominated by the no. 6 ranked Vettori. Toward the end of the first, Vettori secured a takedown and maintained ground control until a beautiful transition from Holland to take the fight back to the feet.
