A new version of the year-old mask debate has come to the surface. Those who are fully vaccinated are ready to leave the masks behind. But the question is: can they?

If you are under 65 and extremely vulnerable to COVID-19, you will need a special form from your doctor before you can get your vaccine. But the form’s purpose, fulfilling Gov. Ron DeSantis’ order to expand vaccine eligibility to some people under 65, is controversial.
People over 65 who still haven’t gotten vaccinated say making more people eligible for the vaccine is adding more stress. One Cape Coral man, Alan Grudzien, has tried to get an appointment three times a week, every week since January no luck.

Southwest Florida has been doing its part to make sure our family, friends and neighbors in need have a meal to put on the table. That starts at the Harry Chapin Food Bank, where the real superstars of the operation are the people who drive the delivery trucks.
Carla McGee is a CDL driver for the food bank. She’s a one-woman band who’s worked there for 4.5 years. On a typical day, she’ll drive to grocery stores like Publix and load hundreds or thousands of pounds of food onto the truck before going off to another grocery location.
