A new version of the mask debate asks if fully vaccinated people still need to wear them

New version of mask debate asks if fully vaccinated people still need to wear them Published: March 9, 2021 7:29 PM EST Updated: March 10, 2021 10:45 AM EST Recommended A new version of the year-old mask debate has come to the surface. Those who are fully vaccinated are ready to leave the masks behind. But the question is: can they? A customer’s fight at Costco in South Fort Myers over masks was caught on camera. He wants to know what the point of getting the vaccine was if he still has to wear a mask? Every store has its own set of rules so, it depends on where you go if you have to wear a mask. But, many of the large retailers are still requiring masks upon entry.

Expanded vaccine eligibility leads to frustration

Expanded vaccine eligibility leads to frustration Published: March 3, 2021 9:52 AM EST Updated: March 3, 2021 9:54 AM EST If you are under 65 and extremely vulnerable to COVID-19, you will need a special form from your doctor before you can get your vaccine. But the form’s purpose, fulfilling Gov. Ron DeSantis’ order to expand vaccine eligibility to some people under 65, is controversial. People over 65 who still haven’t gotten vaccinated say making more people eligible for the vaccine is adding more stress. One Cape Coral man, Alan Grudzien, has tried to get an appointment three times a week, every week since January no luck.

Delivery drivers keep Harry Chapin Food Bank running

Delivery drivers keep Harry Chapin Food Bank running Published: February 23, 2021 7:31 AM EST Recommended Southwest Florida has been doing its part to make sure our family, friends and neighbors in need have a meal to put on the table. That starts at the Harry Chapin Food Bank, where the real superstars of the operation are the people who drive the delivery trucks. Carla McGee is a CDL driver for the food bank. She’s a one-woman band who’s worked there for 4.5 years. On a typical day, she’ll drive to grocery stores like Publix and load hundreds or thousands of pounds of food onto the truck before going off to another grocery location.
