Chattanooga FC Breezes to Independent Cup Championship
Naglestad Scores Twice in 5-0 Victory Over Soda City Saturday, July 24, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus
Saturday truly did feel like Christmas in July for Chattanooga FC. Instead of presents, they got a handful of goals and a trophy as the winner of the summer Independents Cup. While the visiting Soda City had some talented players, they were no match for the boys in blue, who looked bigger, sharper, and more athletic over 90 minutes. CFC triumphed 5-0 over their overmatched opponents.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to present the 2021 NISA Independent Cup trophy to these gentlemen,” exclaimed former club chairman and current Chattanooga mayor Tim Kelly, who handed the trophy to veteran forward Juan Hernandez.
CFC Wins 1-0 Against Atletico Atlanta - Naglestad Scores Again Saturday, July 10, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus Midfielder James Kasak served a 20 yard ball into the box, and the most lethal striker in the city was on the other end. Markus Naglestad used a beautiful high-kick flick with his back heel to tap the ball past the keeper toward the near post. It was an Ibrahimovic-esque strike, and the only goal of CFC’s 1-0 Independent Cup win over Atletico Atlanta, who featured former CFC’er David Koloko. “It came in really high, and I just tried to get something on it and luckily it went in,” Naglestad said.
Bigfoot Devastated as Chattanooga FC Rallies Against Appalachian FC
Defenders Of Fort Finley Win In 3-2 Decision Wednesday, July 7, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus
A “defender” was spectacular up front, a trio of 18 year-olds made their professional debuts, and bigfoot stalked the sidelines. Exhibition matches are usually a bit different from the regular season, but Chattanooga FC’s 3-2 win over Appalachian FC of the NPSL had more oddities than normal.
“I saw a lot of confidence out of the kids tonight,” forward Nick Spielman said. “They came straight in and put in a great shift. Ricky hit the post and Angel put some tackles in, and we encourage that from them in practice. I’m glad to see it in a game.”
Bement To McGrath Combo Unstoppable In 3-0 Rout
Chattanooga Fc Upends New Amsterdam In NISA Legends Cup Friday, April 16, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus
Once the ball is in the air, there’s no telling what will happen on the pitch. In the 73rd minute, Chattanooga FC held to a very uncomfortable 1-0 lead. New Amsterdam had spent the last 20 minutes dominating possession, with CFC on their heels the entire time. The home team finally got something going on the left wing, and Chattanooga’s wingback James Kasak crossed the ball into forward Brian Bement.
Bement was the main target, but he and his heavily wrapped up arm were knocked out of position after he skied for a header.
