(NewsDakota.com) The Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and kept the lead the rest of the contest as they go on to defeat the Cardinals of Carrington 52-23 in the season opener for both teams in Class B Boys basketball. The Rockets held the Cardinals to just 13 first half points, leading 24-13 at the break. NR/S outscored Carrington 20-4 in the third quarter, including 11 points from Evan Ulrich. The 6’7″ Senior Forward Ulrich had a game high 19 points for the Rockets, 6’4″ Junior Guard Nick Berglund added 11. Carrington was led by 6′ Junior Guard Lucas Hendrickson with 11.
