Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Kabul wherein he paid a day-long official visit on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation particularly current developments in the Afghan peace process, and measures to further enhance bilateral and defense cooperation were discussed.
The COAS also offered condolences on the sad demise of the Duke of Edinburgh His Royal Highness Prince Philip and said that the world has lost a highly respected friend.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa called on Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
Chief of UK Defence Staff General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter was also present during the meeting, held in Kabul. Matters of mutual interest, current developments in Afghan peace process, enhanced bilateral security and defence cooperation and need for effective border management between the two countries were discussed.
During a day-long official visit, General Qamar Bajwa reiterated that a peaceful Afghanistan means a peaceful region in general and a peaceful Pakistan in particular. “We will always support Afghan-led and Afghan owned peace process based on mutual consensus of all stakeholders,” he said.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Jawed Bajwa has reiterated that a peaceful Afghanistan means a peaceful region in general and a peaceful Pakistan in particular.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Qamar Jawed Bajwa visited Kabul, Afghanistan for a day long official visit today.
He held meeting with president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter, Chief of the Defence Staff UK was also present during the meeting.
Matters of mutual interest, current developments in Afghan Peace Process, enhanced bilateral security & defence cooperation and need for effective border management between the two brotherly countries were discussed.

Pakistani Army Chief of Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other leaders in Kabul on Monday, sources told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The media wing of Pakistan’s military did not immediately respond to a request for comment or confirm the visit.
According to Reuters, it was not immediately clear what was discussed during the meeting.
Neighbouring Pakistan is regarded as a key player in the Afghan peace process. In the past Islamabad has been accused of harbouring the Taliban but in recent years Washington and other Western powers have acknowledged its efforts to push the militant group to take part in peace talks.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani Monday exchanged views on the Afghan peace process among other matters.
The meeting took place in Kabul as the army chief has arrived in the Afghan capital on a day-long visit, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The ISPR said matters of mutual interest, current developments in the Afghan peace process, enhanced bilateral security and defence cooperation, and the need for effective border management between the two brotherly countries were discussed during the meeting.
