Claiming that the Congress government in Punjab had signed contracts with corporates for farming and was opposing the new farm laws enacted by the central government, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday said the Congress was using the farmers’ protest to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After heated arguments, the trio allegedly assaulted Mahesh who became unconscious after receiving severe injuries.
Mahesh was admitted to a private hospital in Mandvi and later to Sardar Smarak hospital in Bardoli for further treatment. The doctors claimed that he had incurred fractures on his nose and injuries on his head. The condition of Mahesh is out of danger and he is still undergoing treatment.
Police have registered an offence under IPC sections 323, 294, 506 at Mandvi police station against Manish and the two others.
Talking to the Indian Express, Mahesh Jalora said, “I use to report about the issues at the Mandvi Nagrik Sahakari Bank for the newspaper. In the last term, Manish was the chairman of bank and he used to insult people approaching him for work. He was earlier elected member of the BJP-run Mandvi municipality. We will fight legal battle against him.”

A two-and-a-half-year-old child, declared brain dead following an accident, gave a new lease of life to seven children, including two from Russia and Ukraine, after his parents donated his organs. The child’s heart has been transplanted to a 4-year-old boy from Russia while his lungs were transplanted to another four-year-old child from Ukraine at MGM hospital in Chennai on Tuesday.
This is the second organ donation amid the Covid-19pandemic in Surat city.

He was rushed to Amruta Hospital nearby where he underwent treatment for several days. On December 14, doctors declared him brain dead.
BJP and Congress campaign to save heritage train from stopping service

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have started campaigns to save the 107-year-old heritage train service between Billimora in Valsad district and Waghai in Dangs district from shutting down.
