Good afternoon. It is not often that i get a musical introduction so i appreciate that very much. I think we will have some fun with our panel when they come up but as i think you know, i believe this is the program, we are going to have a special guest first and a little intimate conversation between this special guest and me and i feel very privileged to be able to chat with them. An old and dear friend, senator john warner. Senator warner is approaching old age but you would never know it. We have been sitting in the back and talking about old times in this race and that race and all kinds of things. I was thinking about his career and that is absolutely incredible because you can go back as far as world war ii and korea. And there he went to the United States senate was elected in 1878 it was 5000 votes but that was pretty much the end of his contest but mainly he was unopposed from early 79 all the way from 2009 and then he was defeated by another warner that was completely not related. But just on a personal note and it describes his life when he ran for a senate i was already a pundit back then as the hobo no real employment that mattered in to do the things that mad

Those of you old enough to remember the wonderful celebration of the bicentennial of the us which helped bring the country together. And he went to a place many of you never heard of, the United States senate. He was elected in 1978, elected very narrowly, 5000 votes, very narrowly. That was the end of his time test. Occasionally he would have one within a few Percentage Points but mainly was unopposed. In the u. S. Senate from
